Visiting the Sake Museum

I visited the Sake Museum in early November when it was transitioning from Autumn to Winter. This was still great weather to have some ice cream with alcohol (let's be honest, ice cream is suitable in any weather!).

The museum is not your typical large-scale museum but a quaint little storefront that can be easily overlooked.

Entrance to the Sake Museum

I was greeted by 10 seats in the 'lobby' area with some calligraphy paintings hung up on the wall, a counter (which was unmanned when I arrived), and some traditional Japanese clothing hung at the side.

Trying the Sake Ice Cream

After learning all about sake, it's time to reward yourself with the famous "Sake Ice Cream". What could be better than combining the smooth, delicate flavours of sake with the milky sweetness of Hokkaido milk ice cream? At the Chitosetsuru Sake Museum, you can experience this unique culinary delight firsthand.

Chitosetsuru Sake Soft Serve

Sake ice cream is an inventive creation that perfectly blends the traditional charm of sake with the comforting familiarity of ice cream. When you take your first spoonful of sake ice cream, you’ll be greeted with a soft, velvety texture that effortlessly melts in your mouth. Whether you're a sake connoisseur or simply curious about trying something new, sake ice cream promises to be a taste sensation like no other.

A Must-Try Experience

If you find yourself in Hokkaido and the area, it wouldn't hurt to carve out some time for a trip to the Chitosetsuru Sake Museum and immerse yourself in the world of sake ice cream. It's a delightful blend of tradition and innovation, offering a unique taste of Japan's rich cultural heritage.
