Honest review of VENUE by Sebastian

I visited VENUE by Sebastian recently on a Wednesday for dinner because this restaurant was a food recommendation I saw on my TikTok For You Page.

Is a reservation required?

A reservation isn't a must if you visit the place on a weekday during dinner. However, I highly recommend making one since it's easy to place a reservation, doesn't cost a dime, and ensures a table is ready upon arrival.

Everything I ate at VENUE by Sebastian

I got the 3-course set dinner ($58++ per person) which consists of 1 starter, 1 mains, and 1 dessert. Here's my honest review of each food item:

Starters

Cauliflower Salad

The Cauliflower Salad uses mint yogurt, roasted cauliflower, toasted almonds, rocket leaves, and pomegranate.

Beef Tataki

In my opinion, the Beef Tataki is the better starter of the two. The garlic flakes and wasabi compliments the beef so well without overpowering it. Totally worth the slight top-up!

Mains

Pork Collar

The Iberico Pork Collar is well grilled with kebab spice, parsley & shallot salad, and mint yogurt. The pork was not too tough and easy to eat. Additionally, it comes with a side of potato gratin which in my opinion, is one of the better gratins I have had in a while.

Ribeye

The Ribeye was a char-grilled stockyard 200 days grain-fed Angus ribeye (we had it medium rare). It also came with potato gratin, garlic, and jalepeño peppers. Personally, I liked the Ribeye better of the two mains as the beef was tender and juicy.

Dessert

Tiramisu

This was a solid tiramisu. The moisture in the cake combined with the cream that is not too heavy made this dessert enjoyable and yummy. 10/10 would recommend.

Final Verdict

Overall, I would give this place an 8/10 rating. The food was good, the location was pretty accessible, and the service was great. Only feedback is the waiting time for food to be served was a little longer.
